THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC Acting President MM Hassan said that the Enforcement Directorate investigation against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter is a poetic justice reserved by time for Pinarayi who hunted former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his family members.
"Pinarayi Vijayan hunted the righteous Oommen Chandy using the state police and CBI from the day he came to power in 2016 till Oommen Chandy's death. Unfounded lies were spread against his children. Oommen Chandy was even accused of having sex with the woman who earlier said that he was like a father to her. Searches were conducted under the leadership of DGP Rajesh Dewan and ADGPs Anil Kant and Sheikh Darvesh Sahib as per Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's directive," Hassan said.
"Pinarayi also tried to influence the Solar Commission by extending its tenure several times. Despite such widespread persecution, Oommen Chandy came out proving his innocence and attained immortality in the hearts of the people. Pinarayi will have to pay for all these," he said.
"The Interim Settlement Board of the Income Tax Department has found that Pinarayi Vijayan aka PV received about 100 crores of the 135 crores given as monthly pay-off by the black sand mining company. An investigation should be conducted regarding this. Instead, the ED is focusing its investigation on Pinarayi's daughter, who received a relatively small amount. There is something suspicious about this. We are concerned that this is part of a settlement between Pinarayi and the BJP," he added.
